When working in dangerous areas like mines and construction sites, it is important to have the right workwear for the job. In many cases, these types of jobs require hi-visibility workwear. Here are some important facts to remember with regards to hi-visibility workwear.
State Requirements
State requirements for types of workwear and standards in hi-visibility workwear may vary slightly from state to state. Other changes are whether you are working during the day or at night. These regulations have been put in place to keep any person working in dangerous areas safe. This includes work areas where there are moving vehicles or heavy equipment. It is important that you follow these regulations to safeguard not only yourself but the company with which you work. Safety should always be at the forefront in any such areas.
Safety First
Safety is the number one reason for requiring hi-visibility workwear. Whether you work on a road crew or at a construction site, it is important that you are visible to others at all times. The workwear you choose will affect the safety afforded to you during working hours. With the reflective aspects of hi-visibility workwear and their bright colours, you will be easily seen by other workers and or drivers. This will help to avoid serious accidents and injuries.

These colours must be bright fluorescent fabrics. The regulations for night time workwear must include reflective tape that meets the specifications of the state. This tape can only be washed a certain number of times before it is no longer compliant with regulations. There are also shirts that meet both day and night requirements. These would include workwear in the above-mentioned colours with the reflective tape mentioned for night workwear. It is important that these standards are followed in order to stay compliant with all regulations.
While workwear is commonplace on construction sites and under hazardous conditions it is important to understand the state requirements, the safety needs and the differences in hi-visibility workwear. This knowledge will allow you to stay safe while you are working in possibly high-risk environments.
